Aberdeen scrape through

Sam Cosgrove scored a late penalty to send Aberdeen through to the fifth round.

Dumbarton were less than five minutes from forcing a replay until Cosgrove was fouled in the box by Rico Quitongo.

Cosgrove stepped up and scored the resulting penalty to send the Scottish Premiership side through.

There was a debut for Dylan McGeouch who partnered Funso Ojo in a new look Aberdeen midfield.

Aberdeen had the majority of chances with McLennan, Taylor, Cosgrove and McGeouch all coming close to scoring.

League One Dumbarton battled stoically throughout the match and almost equalised when a last minute late cross was diverted for a corner.

Hearts put five past Airdronians and a cracker at Alloa

Hearts put five past League One Airdronians with Steven Naismith on the scoresheet.

This result will no doubt come as welcome relief for Hearts who have been struggling in the Premiership this season sitting bottom of the SPL.

Inverness edged out a cracker against Alloa, Charlie Trafford scoring an eighty-sixth minute winner with the scores locked at two all.

Trafford headed in a cross supplied by Shaun Rooney after Alloa’s Kevin O’Hara scored the fourth goal of the tie with a left footed finish inside the box to draw the sides level.

Kilmarnock and Hamilton win big

Kilmarnock put six past League Two Queens Park with former Rangers winger Chris Burke supplying all the assists.

Kilmarnock had failed to score in six of their past seven games before Burke supplied six assists including two for Stuart Findlay.

It was the first time Killie had got to see their team under new manager Alex Dyer who gave debuts to Harry Bunn and Nicke Kabamba.

Scottish Premiership side Hamilton Academicals put five past League Two Edinburgh City with debut goals for Andy Dales and Andy Winter.

Winger Dales nodded in a cross from Aaron McGowan while seventeen year old Andy Winter, newly promoted from the reserves, curled in a sublime fourth goal.

Celtic kicked off at 17:30 and are leading one nil at Partick Thistle.

Dundee versus Motherwell kicks off at 19:20
