The week of sport went from the absurd to the despairing to sheer brilliance.

Combining the term absurd and Scottish football is something that is not uncommon these days.
–Right Or Wrong: That Trip By Celtic To Dubai
–Inquest: Can McInnes Reinvigorate Aberdeen After Crushing Defeat To Ross County?
After this past week the annuals of the ‘Absurd Premier League’ will be filled with manager rants and deluded supporters calling for sackings for no reason other than because, to guess, they’re bored?
Neil Lennon kicked it off with an incendiary press conference on Monday afternoon after coming out of quarantine following the previous week’s absurd decision by Celtic to train abroad in the middle of a lockdown.
Instead of showing contriteness Lennon came out swinging at everyone and everything including other clubs, the government and of course the media, seemingly taken aback returning to what he called “hypocrisy”.
Then on Tuesday the Absurd Premier League saw an Aberdeen fan pin his bedsheet to Pittodrie with a message scrawled across it calling for Dons boss Derek McInnes to be sacked off the back of a 4-1 defeat to County. Absolutely agree with the one deluded individual that McInnes should be shown his marching orders for leading the Dons to six consecutive Europa League qualifying campaigns in the last six seasons.
A bit of breaking news today from the ‘APL‘, which actually isn’t that absurd but dare we say makes sense in Scottish football, Scott Wright signed his pre-contract deal with Rangers, agreeing to join the Ibrox side in the summer.
Germany is where we find both brilliance and despair.
–Borussia Dortmund’s Title Tilt All But Over After Gladbach Beat The Blackyellows For The First Time In 5 Years: Match Report
–Robert Lewandowski Breaks More Records As Bayern Take A 7 Point Lead In Bundesliga After Victory Over Schalke: Match Report
Borussia Dortmund’s season continues to go from bad to worse.
The BlackYellows were supposed to be genuine title challengers to Bayern Munich this season and, with the acquisition of Erling Haaland, looked in good shape to bring the Meisterschale back to Dortmund for the first time in almost a decade.
Instead Dortmund’s kids have, as kids tend to do, gone AWOL, whilst the grandfathers of the league Muller and Lewandowski continue to showcase unwavering brilliance on the pitch.
There’s a recurring theme about age over beauty in sport at the moment. At 38 Jimmy Anderson took six wickets in England’s second test against Sri Lanka, whilst the NFL’s NFC Championship was contested between two quarterbacks with a combined age of 80 (Rodgers 37, Brady 43).
Dortmund’s kids; Gionvanni Reyna, Jadon Sancho and Haaland, have a combined age of (58 – 18, 20, 20) whilst Lewandowski and Muller combine to 63 (32 and 31).
BVB faltered this week, losing both games in the league to leave their title ambitions over. Lewandowski and Muller propelled Bayern to two victories scoring two goals each, continuing their dominance of Bundesliga.
Finally to attentions away from frozen football played in lockdown conditions, let’s head over to Abu Dhabi where golf is being played in a modest 20 degrees and fans are allowed to be part of the action.

Here on the Arabian Penisula, Aberdeen’s own David Law, supported by Paul Lawrie, began his third year on the PGA European Tour.
